RENEWAL OF LICENCES

All economic operators trading within the administrative area of the Municipal Council of Vacoas Phoenix are hereby informed that following the recent amendments to the Local Government Act 2003 and the coming into force of the Business Facilitation Act 2006, economic activities have been categorized in different clusters and the trade fee in respect of each activities revised.

Economic operators are also informed that renewal of licences can effected as from the 1st July of the year.

Payment for renewal of licences may be effected at the cashier of the Council, and shall be paid in ONE INSTALMENT not later than 15 days after the expiry date of the licence.

A surcharge of 50% shall be levied on any amount due not paid by 16th July of the current year.

Economic operators having not yet registered themselves should do so by calling at the Registrar of Business, 1 Cathedral Square, Pope Henessy Street, Port Louis.

The new clusters and the trade fees in respect of each economic activity are displayed at the Town Hall and the Municipal Social Centres.

Any person intending to cease business shall within 15 days of the cessation give notice in writing to the Chief Executive and return all receipts / licences.

Economic operators should bring along their copy of business registration card, national identity card and the licence/trade fee receipt while calling at the Municipality for the payment of the trade fee.
